The courts were buzzing with energy and enthusiasm as 22 teams from 12 schools came together for this year’s Primary School Team Challenge badminton event. The day showcased not only some fantastic badminton skills, but also teamwork, determination, and the true spirit of school sport.
Players competed with passion throughout the event, producing exciting rallies, close matches, and plenty of memorable moments. From experienced players to those new to badminton, every team contributed to an atmosphere filled with encouragement and positivity.
A huge congratulations goes to Sherwood School, who claimed the Section 1 title after an impressive performance across the day. Their teamwork, consistency, and determination saw them rise to the top in a highly competitive division.
In Section 2, Oteha School delivered an outstanding effort to secure the championship title. The team showed great resilience and enthusiasm throughout the competition and should be incredibly proud of their achievement.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the Sportsmanship & Fair Play Award, which was awarded to Willow Park School. Their positive attitude, respect for opponents, and encouragement of teammates perfectly represented the values of the event and made them deserving recipients of this special recognition.
Thank you to all players, teachers, supporters, and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. It was fantastic to see so many young athletes enjoying badminton, representing their schools with pride, and creating a fun and supportive environment for everyone involved.
We look forward to welcoming all schools back for another exciting Team Challenge event in 2026.
